We invite you to participate in this fun-filled, family-friendly event in which you can showcase your talent. Pre-registration is required (form below), and all acts will be screened before the live event.
Space is limited to 20 acts. If you are interested in showcasing your talent, we encourage you to sign up ASAP!
Talent Show: Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 7:30 - 9:30 pm
Rehearsal: Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 3:30 - 6 pm
This is not a competition. There are no prizes or awards, just good clean fun.
Performance times are limited to a maximum of three minutes to allow time for more performances.
All acts will be screened, so please, select appropriate material for all ages.
All performers must provide their own props and music, if applicable. For all performances, props, instruments, costumes, etc., are the performer's responsibility.
Our talent show is family-friendly. Therefore, out of respect for all of our attendees, please use caution in selecting the material for your performance. The following examples are prohibited: sexual or inappropriate comments or movements, inappropriate costumes, suggestive or questionable lyrics, and vulgar and explicit language.
The safety of all performers and viewers is extremely important to us. Therefore the following restrictions will apply no use of fire, smoke, or pyrotechnics of any kind, no use of live animals, no use of confetti or silly string or glitter, no videotaping or flash photography from attendees, no use of weapons or any act referring to violence or violent acts either intended or unintentional.
All acts will be screened at the registration table when signing in at the conference. Pre-registered acts must submit performance material (music, lyrics) to the AV table NO LATER than 12:30 pm on Thursday to participate. The material will be screened to ensure it meets all requirements of the Talent Show Guidelines, i.e., skit appropriateness, song lyrics, backing tracks, etc. All acts MUST be pre-screened and approved by the Hospitality & Entertainment Committee to perform. NO EXCEPTIONS. The Phoenix Society/Entertainment Committee reserves the right to cancel a performance/skit at anytime.
There will be one four-hour block (Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 3:30 - 6 pm) for all acts to rehearse on stage before show time. All 20 acts plus alternates will be required to rehearse during this time period. Any act that does not rehearse will be replaced with an alternate act. The rehearsal time window at the conference is between sessions and is on a very specific time schedule. It is of the utmost importance that when you schedule a time slot, you be on time and prepared for your rehearsal.
All materials must be turned in to the AV table by Thursday at 12:30 pm. If materials are not received by this time, you cannot perform, and the slot will be given to an alternate act. Due to time constraints, any acts that do not rehearse will not perform. NO EXCEPTIONS!
