As part of the 2026 Phoenix RISE Awards, celebrating Resilience, Inspiration, Support, and Empowerment, Phoenix Society will honor the journey of Howard Tellepsen and his dedication to the burn survivor community. Howard will be recognized as the inaugural recipient of Phoenix Society’s Odyssey Award, a tribute to a lifetime journey marked by perseverance and purpose.
For more than five decades, Howard’s story has shown resilience, leadership, and a strong commitment to giving back. As one of Houston’s most prominent business and philanthropic leaders, his impact goes beyond his own experience, helping to strengthen community and support others on their path.
Phoenix RISE will also launch Phoenix Society’s 50th Anniversary Year, celebrating five decades of connection, community, and support for those affected by burn injury.
