Phoenix UBelong Young Adults
Ages 18-25 years
This program is designed to assist young adults with the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Content addresses the growth and changes that come with this life stage by looking at our life directions (making sure our life direction matches our inside goals and values), by focusing on relating to others and social confidence, by looking at ways to reach out in service to others using our wisdom and experiences, and planning for what comes next in each of our paths.
Highlights for 2017 include:
- An pre-conference workshop which runs all day Wednesday. This will include focused time to get to know everyone, take a look at our own path, and identify some personal goals. We’ll also take a trip to Ultimate Escape Game (no one is ever actually locked in, though!) as a fun metaphor for the work on using next steps and clues in our own lives.
- A support group Thursday as well as a discussion group Friday. (Note: these two specific sessions are also open to any/all young adults attending the conference). Meeting friends and peer-to-peer support is a significant part of young adult programming.
- Informal meetups will be arranged for attending general sessions, meals, etc., together too!
We ask that participants commit to all portions of this multi-day experience to get the most out of the content and friendships.
Note: The Wednesday workshop has limited capacity, therefore this program will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis only. To register for this program, please complete the Phoenix World Burn Congress registration form and indicate that you are registering for the UBelong Young Adult program’s Young Adult Workshop. An additional $35 fee applies to participate in all pre-conference workshops.
