Phoenix UBelong

A Four-Day Event for Kids, Teens, Young Adults & Families

A father holds his daughter, who is a burn survivor. He kisses her temple as she smiles at the camera.

We welcome young burn survivors, their siblings and parents, or children of burn survivors to a unique four-day experience within Phoenix World Burn Congress, run by a collaborative team of experts from around the country.

Programs by Age

Through fun and interactive sessions, Phoenix UBelong engages two groups:

Over four days, participants will build their connections to fellow burn survivors and the burn community, while discovering new tools and resources to guide their personal recovery. Age-appropriate sessions will be offered on a range of issues, including:

  • Questions from peers and others
  • Staring
  • Changed friendships
  • Teasing or bullying
  • Growing up with scars
  • Looking ahead to dating

Registration for the Phoenix UBelong program is filling up and there are several age groups that are at or near capacity. The program has a limited capacity and is being filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Phoenix Society strives to provide a quality, safe, and meaningful experience for the Phoenix UBelong Youth and Teen participants. This requires that we limit the number of participants accepted into the groups and the program. A reminder that an adult must be registered to attend the conference with the registered youth in Phoenix UBelong. Phoenix UBelong Parents

A loved one’s burn injury can cause a range of impacts on individual family members, their relationships with each other, and overall family functioning.  Special family-focused programming at Phoenix World Burn Congress addresses the impact of a burn injury on the entire family.
