USING COMMUNITY AND PEER SUPPORT TO ASSIST THE FAMILY AFTER BURN INJURY

A burn injury has a profound impact on families psychologically, socially and physically.  Connecting with other families and caregivers can provide new tools, insight and build peer support.  The following family-focused workshops are open to all adult conference attendees and have been designed to meet the specific needs of the family navigating through the journey of burn recovery.

 

Parent Panel: Using Community and Peer Support to Assist the Family After a Burn Injury

Panelists Pirrie Wright, Lourdes Heredia, Tanya Nielson and Laura Gonzalez will share their unique perspectives as burn survivors and/or caregivers, and what resources have helped them/their families to thrive. Moderated by Mona Krueger MA, MSW 

 

Family Focused Facilitated Support Group

Our family focused support group is designed to meet the specific needs of caregivers supporting children at all ages (youth, teen and adult).

 

Families Healing Together – Family Centered Open Mic

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2018 10:15am – 11:30am

An open mic session for all family members that have been impacted by a burn injury.
