Interview with Teresa Reid, Associate Director of Philanthropy
This #GivingTuesday, make a donation to Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. Your gift will support resources, tools, and programs for anyone impacted by a burn injury.
To build a community of transformational healing, we rely on people who believe in our shared vision of a future where no one recovers from a burn injury alone.
Jim Pauley, president and CEO of NFPA, is one of the donors who came together at Phoenix WBC 2017 to create a match pool of $165,000. For the duration of the Never Alone Campaign, every gift under $10,000 will be matched dollar for dollar.
With your support, Phoenix Society will ensure that no one affected by a burn injury is forced to journey through healing alone. Every gift is a powerful way to provide the tools to thrive again to those who need them most.
By building on our founder's passion for peer support, we'll reach more, connect more, and mobilize our community for action. We will be greater than we've been before.
"Nationwide there are firefighter foundations providing resources that burn centers cannot provide. We are able to fill in a lot of those gaps. When you add Phoenix Society to the mix, burn care comes full circle."
As the Phoenix Society grew into a leading non-profit, Integra grew to become a leader of innovative medical technologies. With roots in the same community, the two organizations have histories, missions, and values that are deeply intertwined and complementary.
Review Phoenix Society's 2016 revenue and operating expenses.
Whenever you engage with Phoenix Society, you can trust your investment will be used with care. Each of our programs and services are designed for the greatest impact.
In 2016, the inaugural Phoenix World Burn Congress Live Streaming Event was held at Spectrum Health’s Paul and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Survivors, families, healthcare workers, and others embraced the unexpected opportunity to participate in Phoenix WBC from hundreds of miles away — including Jeremy Graham.
Mark and Steve Joyner have shared in each other’s lives since birth. In 2016, the twins shared in each other’s healing too. Six years after Steve’s burn injury, Mark joined him at Phoenix World Burn Congress for the first time.
As Phoenix Society’s reach grows, so does your impact. During 2016, you supported innovative program expansion, fostered strategic partnerships, and contributed to national advocacy efforts.
Today, Howard is intentional in looking back and leveraging his past to build a better future for burn survivors everywhere.
A powerful social media video challenge by our generous supporter, Bio Oil, and their ensuing gift motivated another first-time donor, Brian Stevens, to initiate further excitement and generous giving - Brian challenged the crowd at the Phoenix WBC 2015 banquet to participate in an exciting, 1:1 gift match - and make a difference in the lives of burn survivors everywhere. A true example of how "Nothing Heals People Like Other People," read how our attendees rose to the occasion and created an evening to remember!
