Young Adult Session - Kicks Off!

Young Adult Workshop at Phoenix World Burn Congress 2014 is all about finding your focus (on who you are, and where you’re going), and having fun while you find fulfillment. It’s about finding comfort in who you are, and having support to get to where you want to go (as a person and in the world). This workshop brings together 18-25 year olds who are ready to support one another, have fun, and talk about where they’re going next.

This year we’re really focusing on being mindful about that focus- being “in the moment” to really understand ourselves, and also to allow ourselves to experience life to the fullest, including joy!   At the first day of Young Adult Workshop, survivors and loved ones mixed self-reflection with peer support. We experienced social times and reflection exercises. We also practiced joy while we were out and about at Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park!

The Phoenix World Burn Congress experience continues with opportunities for serving the burn survivor community through projects, visits to talk with the teens at Phoenix UBelong, and more. (Look for our icebreaker table at the Kickoff! It’s open to everyone!)

We’ll get real during a discussion group session on Friday (open to any and every young adult here at Phoenix WBC) and talk about relating to others and relationships of all kinds.
