How did you end up at the Phoenix Society?

As the daughter of a burn survivor, I grew up immersed in the burn community. I think that has shaped my life in a lot of ways.  When I learned Phoenix Society was hiring in my field, I leapt at the chance to become part of this team. I couldn’t be more passionate about the organization’s mission or more proud to be one of the people with the honor of carrying it out.

What’s the best part about your new position?

Because Phoenix Society is currently investing in telling its story, now is a very exciting time to come onboard as a storyteller. I feel fortunate to spend my days telling the powerful stories of our community—and of this organization. I’m a forward-thinking person, so the innovation happening at Phoenix Society right now is also thrilling to me.

What are some of your favorite hobbies?

I’m a novelist, so I spend a lot of time writing. I’m working on a young adult novel right now, inspired by the Irish War of Independence. I love going to theatre, art exhibits, and other cultural events. And I love cooking (and eating), hanging out with my cats, and spending time with my partner.
