Letter from the President

Portrait of Lorraine CarliDear Friends of the Phoenix Society,

It is with tremendous pride and boundless hope for the future that I provide an update on the activities of the past year and our journey together to make a great organization even greater!

As the most powerful voice for burn survivors, their families, and their caretakers, the Phoenix Society continues to lead a community for transformational healing. As demand for our services increases, coming from every corner of the world, so too must our reach. It is clear, we need to grow to ensure no one faces the life-changing effects of a burn injury alone.

To achieve our vision, we are addressing the issues you told us were most important. We are devoting energy, passion and resources toward innovative program expansion, strategic partnerships, and advocacy. We are ramping up in technology, human resources, program development, and systems to support our next steps. We are creating a solid foundation from which to create new approaches and test community-designed strategies.

The Phoenix Society is entering a new era. As we move toward 2020, we will be an agile organization, able to confidently perform in today’s environment. We will reach more people, in more places and have greater impact.

Ultimately, we will better serve the burn community across the globe, and anyone who experiences a burn will know Phoenix Society is here to help them thrive again.

We have engaged you every step of the way because you are an important part of this work. It is an exciting time for the Phoenix Society, and we are proud you are with us on the journey. With you, we are creating the future of survivor support.

Together is greater than apart.

Lorraine Carli
