John Morris - Traveling by Wheel
John Morris is a travel expert who also happens to be a burn survivor. After a serious car accident in 2012, John continues to endure therapy and rehab, but was quick to get back to living—and travelling.
Putting together his expertise, passion for travel, and new experiences of being a triple amputee who utilizes a wheelchair, John created wheelchairtravel.org. Having flown nearly 200,000 miles in 2014, he is among the world's most traveled wheelchair users. An exciting new collaboration with the Phoenix Society lead John to visit Indianapolis, Indiana in advance of 2015 Phoenix World Burn Congress to rate and describe the city’s accessibility.
John experienced Indy from top to bottom, and shares not only his general experiences but extremely informative options on navigating Indy for all kinds of travelers. His travel guide to Indianapolis is a wealth of information for anyone and everyone visiting the city, and is a special gift to everyone planning to travel to Phoenix World Burn Congress in October.
Look forward to John as a special featured guest in Peer Support Chat later in August (Wednesdays 9-10:30pm Eastern, open to the entire Phoenix Society community by creating a login profile). John will share more about his trip to Indy, tips for Phoenix World Burn Congress attendees regarding travelling to the city, places to see, things to do, and getting around.
