Kerri Hanson has worked in the health care field for over 20 years. She previously worked at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Kerri began working for the Phoenix Society in 1999, shortly after the Phoenix Society national office came to Michigan. Jessica Irven is a licensed and certified recreational therapist and certified child life specialist. She specializes in supportive programming for those affected by illness and injury, and has been involved in Phoenix Society’s Young Adult Workshops and Phoenix UBelong programming since 2009.Read More
Andrea joined the Phoenix Society in March of 2015. She is an administrative professional with over fifteen years of experience. She previously worked for the Sustainability Initiative at Grand Valley State University supporting the executive director and managing the department. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Social Justice from Grand Valley State University. Andrea states she is honored to contribute to the Phoenix Society team and support the burn community.
Program Manager - Youth & Family Services
Nicole joined Phoenix Society in 2015. She has over ten years of experience working with the acute and late effect burn population at Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California, during which she was a participant of both the burn prevention and school reentry teams. As a certified child life specialist, Nicole’s knowledge of child development and family centered care give her great insight to the needs of the Phoenix Society population.

Pam Peterson, RN, BSN, is Program Director for The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. She began as a staff nurse at Spectrum Health Regional Burn Center in 1992 then served as the Nurse Manager. Pam has been on the Phoenix Society team since 2001 and currently specializes in programs with a focus on development, planning, implementation and collaboration.Read More
Stephanie joined the Phoenix Society in 2016 as an Administrative Assistant. Stephanie graduated from Kent State University and has over five years of administrative support knowledge from healthcare settings such as skilled nursing and outpatient surgery scheduling. Each step of the way, she developed a deeper understanding of the importance of psychological and emotional aftercare when recovering from an injury.Read More

Debbie joined the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors as Information Systems Project Manager in 2016. She has extensive information technology experience including project management, software deployment, portfolio management, process improvement, coaching and mentoring project managers, and IT strategy spanning domestic and international as well as multi-discipline. Debbie’s responsibility is to drive technology innovation in support of Phoenix Society’s vision and mission.Read More
Tammy first entered the non-profit community over 10 years ago coordinating the Raiser’s Edge database for a local hospice organization. She quickly found that even a data geek could find her work rewarding when applied toward a mission. In 2013, she brought her skills with the Raiser’s Edge to the Phoenix Society. Annual Development Manager
Rachel joined the Phoenix Society as the Annual Development Manager in April 2017. She completed her Masters of Public Administration in nonprofit management at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Rachel has worked with multiple organizations in development, including Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and Habitat for Humanity of Kent County. She was drawn to Phoenix Society's peer support model and is excited to help the team find innovative ways to reach more survivors.Read More
Natasha joined the Phoenix Society in 2017. Prior to the Phoenix Society, Natasha worked as a Technical Packaging Sales Representative for a packaging manufacturer in the Grand Rapids, MI area.
After caring for her grandmother who passed from stage 4 Cancer in 2015, Natasha knew that her “Destiny” in life was to serve others. Natasha states that her passion is being able to provide one with the tools, resources, and guidance that one may need in life. She believes that joining the Phoenix Society’s team has been a true blessing in many ways.
