Director Of Philanthropy

Phoenix Society is focused on expanding and diversifying its philanthropic support and seeks a dynamic development professional to lead these efforts. The Director of Philanthropy (the Director) will have the opportunity to further shape Phoenix Society’s philanthropic strategy, craft and lead a comprehensive fundraising plan. Guided by the fundraising strategy and goals, the Director will lead the transformation of the development operation into a more prolific enterprise. In addition to maintaining a select portfolio of prospects, the successful candidate will effectively position the Executive Director and key Board members to solicit and steward major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The qualified candidate will work to expand Phoenix Society's public image and visibility among targeted philanthropic constituencies.
 
The Director will focus on the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and corporate gift prospects, while developing innovative strategies to identify and engage a pipeline of new prospects. S/he will report to PSBS’s Senior Director of Philanthropy & Strategic Initiatives, work closely with the Board of Directors, and manage a team of three staff members. The Director will collaborate with leadership, staff, and volunteers on diverse fundraising initiatives, providing valuable engagement opportunities and effective support.

The positions primarily provide administrative support to the Program Director and staff and secondarily to the Operations team (COO). S/he is responsible for a wide variety of administrative duties, knowledge management functions and special projects. S/he will perform with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, accuracy and confidentiality.
