The George Pessotti Scholarship Fund, named by the Phoenix Society Board of Directors in 2012 in honor of the former interim executive director and burn survivor, seeks to provide survivors with the financial means to attend World Burn Congress.

 

George’s continued passion to assist individuals to attend the transformative event over the years, and vision to raise funds for anyone seeking support, is unrivaled.

Thank you for your interest in attending the Phoenix Society's World Burn Congress. Due to the generosity of individuals and businesses, the Phoenix Society is able to offer limited scholarships of assistance to help burn survivors attend World Burn Congress.

 

Before applying, please review the guidelines within the application form (link above) and consider the following:

 

  • Funding priority will be given to first-time burn survivor attendees and/or family members, along with additional established criteria.
  • Professionals in the field of burn care or prevention are eligible to apply.
  • Receipt of a completed application at the Phoenix Society office does not guarantee a scholarship to Phoenix Society's World Burn Congress.
  • There are a limited amount of scholarships awarded each year.
  • The assistance program is designed to offer aid in attending the conference, and is not intended to cover all financial costs incurred.
  • Application deadline is July 1, 2013.
  • The Phoenix Society will review all applications, after the July 1, 2013 deadline, and we will notify you as soon as possible regarding the status of your application.
