BECOME A PHOENIX SOCIETY ADVOCATE

Advocacy Training

"The power of the partnership between survivor advocates, burn care professionals and the fire service far exceeds the power of either of us working alone."

Grassroots Advocacy

Grassroots advocacy is individuals committed to influencing positive changes in their lives, their communities and in their selected governments by making their personal stories and opinions known. Getting involved means calling, writing a letter, sending an email, or even visiting your elected representatives who serve you in the local community, state or even in our nation's capital.

How can you make a difference?

Take a moment to add your voice to the Phoenix Society's Advocacy efforts. Please contact us to receive more information on becoming a Phoenix Society Advocate.

YOU can make changes happen!

What is a Phoenix Advocate?

  • Someone who will commit to building a strong relationship with legislators and their staff.

  • Participate when specific "call to action" is requested by Phoenix Society Advocacy Staff regarding prevention, burn care and aftercare issues.

  • Become part of the Phoenix Society Speakers Bureau and speak on behalf of the Society in your local community.

Why Become a Phoenix Advocate?

  • Advocates will have an opportunity to learn more about public policy and advocacy and become pivotal links to the community in which you live. It is the next critical step in raising awareness with policymakers, the public and the media about prevention, burn injuries and the necessary aftercare burn survivors require.

  • The opportunity to connect with others who have an enthusiasm for advocacy and to learn from each other's success.

It is only by "Gathering Our Voices" that we will be heard.
