Turning Tragedy into Advocacy
Our aim is to advocate for public health policy that addresses issues that impact those affected by burn injury.
As a national organization, our efforts are focused on policy development and legislative measures that will have a permanent impact on decreasing burn injuries or improving the care of those with burn injuries. By sharing information and educating our membership we are active in promoting change.
Often those affected by the pain of a burn injury or death of a loved one find meaning in their experiences by becoming advocates for change. Whether this involves burn and fire prevention or advocating for quality burn care, the survivor advocate is a powerful voice.
Common voicesCommon Voices is an Advocates' Coalition sponsored by the National Fire Sprinkler Association. The advocates that serve as the Coalitions Advisory Committee have all been directly affected by fire. By bringing their voices together, the NFSA hopes to assist the advocates in their quest to ensure that others will not have to deal with similar tragedies. This Coalition strives to make a difference by sharing their stories and influencing change.
