Marion Doctor, LCSW, known by many for her leadership in the burn camp community, is Programs Manager at the Children's Hospital Burn Center and an assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Since joining the staff of the burn center in 1978 she has developed programs to meet the acute and rehabilitative needs of burn-injured children and their families. She founded and is Director of the Children's Hospital Burn Camps Program, which has become a prototype for burn camps around the world and she has mentored numerous burn camp directors and has inspired the formation of camps and other burn survivor programs worldwide.
Marion was key in the establishment of the International Association of Burn Camps and currently serves as its president. She has also been active in burn prevention and community safety, and serves as a therapist and manager of a juvenile fire-setter treatment program that she developed at the burn center. She serves on the Professional Advisory Board for the Zach Burn Foundation and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board and Psychosocial Forum Editor for the Journal of Burn Care and Rehabilitation. She is currently the Phoenix Society's First Vice-President.
