When Chris began working at the Regions Hospital Burn Center as the Burn Survivor Support Representive, she was introduced to the Burn Support News magazine and was very impressed with its content and professionalism.

Because her position was a newly created part of the burn team, there were questions and doubts as to the competency and appropriateness of a burn survivors working with burn patients and burn staff. Chris turned to the Phoenix Society both as a resource and a support.

Since that time the Regions Hospital Burn Center has adopted several of the PS programs, including BEST and SOAR. Chris says "My position on the burn center is respected and valued and I attribute that in part to the resources available from the PS. The PS's integrity and commitment to burn survivor recovery is phenomenal, and I am proud to serve on their Advisory Committee."
