Carla Amrhein, MSW, CCLS is the manager of the child life department at Shriners Burns Hospital in Galveston, Texas. She has been working in the field of burns for 10 years and became involved with the Phoenix Society in 2001, when she attended her first World Burn Congress in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Through her involvement wit hthe Phoenix Society, she has brought the SOAR program to her hospital and has been trained as a SOAR Instructor and Trainer, given workshops, written for the burn support news, contributed to the Journey Back project and is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee.
Carla is inspired by the work of the Phoenix Society and uses their resources with the patients, families, students, and visitors who come through her hospital. |
