Carla Oliver, MSW, CCLS is the manager of the therapeutic recreation/child life department at The Children's Hospital in Colorado. She has been in the field of child life for 17 years, 13 of these years she worked in the field of burns, at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, Texas. She became involved with the Phoenix Society in 2001, when she attended her first World Burn Congress Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Through her involvement with the Phoenix Society, she brought the SOAR program to Shriners and has been trained as a SOAR Instructor and Trainer, given workshops, written for the burn support news, contributed to the Journey Back project and is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee and the joint ABA and Phoenix Society Aftercare Reintegration Committee.
