Jill Sproul Receives Alan and Delwyn Breslau Award

 

The recipient of the 2007 Alan and Delwyn Breslau

Award award is Jill Sproul. 2006 award winner Barbara Kammerer Quayle presented the award. Barbara explained that Jill, who was injured as a child before

programs were available to assist in the recover, renew, and

return process, has dedicated her life to seeing that others would

not have to face recovery without resources.

Jill has worked in the burn care field professionally and has been involved in support groups, peer support, burn camp, World Burn Congress and American Burn Association presentations, burn research, and advances in burn care. She has been described by a coworker as "a survivor who has transcended trauma to become a vibrant leader, teacher, manager, wife, mother, friend, and colleague with an infectious enthusiasm."

 

"My mission and goal," said Jill upon receiving the award, "is to see peer support offered to every burn survivor in every burn center in this country."
